He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Dutch" and Frances Schroeder While; his brothers, Bucky, Jim (Charlene) and Bobby While (Peggy); and his brother-in-law Bill Wright.

He is survived by: his wife Evelyn "Jo" Mead; his children, Jamie Ward (Brent) of Downs, Matt While of Hudson and Kyle While of Hudson; his grandchildren, Brock Ward and Jaden Ward; and his siblings, Martha Kerner (Carl) of Bloomington, Mary Wright of Normal and Chuck While (Myrna) of Gulf Shores, AL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Cancer Center in Normal, St. Mary's Church in Downs or to the charity of your choice.
