She was predeceased by: her parents, H. Martin Hamblin and Florence Hamblin (Wooten); her husband Robert L. Garland; her son Matthew; her grandson Mark Garland, Jr.; and her siblings, John Hamblin, Anna Hamblin and Mildred Evans.
She is survived by: her children, Lorraine Garland-Torres (Tony) of Galesburg, IL, Mark (Nelda) of Port St and Bethany Krause (Jay) of Belvidere, IL; her grandchildren, Christy Torres and Courtney Bibo (Greg); her children, Ashley Garland, Mike Forstrom (Tanya), Emily Steck (Kevin), Katie Villa (Luis), Nathan Forstrom (Jeanine) of Madison Heights, MI, Marisa and Elaina Garland; and her sister-in-law Nancy Ignarski. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the River Woods Funeral Chapels (205 S River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Mt. Emblem Cemetery (520 E Grand Ave, Elmhurst, IL 60126).
