It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Ellen Maatta (Des Plaines, Illinois), who passed away on June 28, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband James Robert Maatta; her sons, Paul C Maatta (Kathy) and Carl R Maatta (Debbie); her grandchildren, Paul Maatta Jr., Jennifer Nordentoft (Michael) and Amy Kimmel (Steve); and her great grandchildren, Logan Nordentoft, Landon Nordentoft and Steve Kimmel Jr. "SJ". She was also cherished by mother and role model for her children and grandchildren.

“I am so sorry for your loss and am so grateful for all of the tender loving care you all gave to Mary these last many years that she lived with you. Everyone will always remember her with fond memories of her fun loving spirit and her love of desserts especially Hot Fudge sundaes and chocolate. I will always eat a hot fudge sundae in her memory. She was a delightful sister-in-law and we had so much fun together, I thank God for allowing me to have her in my life. God bless you all”
