It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Margaret Basden of Des Plaines, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on March 2, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen Sue Jones and Ralph Hickey; her stepfather Eugene Francis Jones; her husband John William Basden; and her siblings, Donna Grace Wardlow and Michael Lawrence Hickey (Patricia).
She is survived by: her children, Joann Alice Pichla (Thomas), Thomas Gene Basden and Jennifer Rae Bello (Scott Peter); her brother Patrick Ralph Hickey (Julianna); her grandchildren, Thomas William Pichla, Paul Francis Bello, Margaret Rose Bello and Evelyn Anne Bello; and her siblings-in-law, Bobby Joe Basden (Dorothy), Nora Gray (John), Shirley Jones (Wayne), Travis Basden, Betty Timbes (Ray), Elizabeth Darnell White and Jerry Wayne Basden. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Lurie's Children's Hospital of Chicago.
