He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Murphy (Hamilton) and Kevin Murphy; his sister Alice Murphy Tapling; and his brother-in-law George E. Tapling, III. He is survived by: his siblings, Marianne Gapen, Carol Herbstritt, Julie Stack and Brian Murphy; his in-laws, Clark Gapen, Terry Herbstritt, Karen Quasny and John Stack; his friend Patty Murphy; and his nieces and nephews, Beth (Gapen), Joe Bertoni, Molly (Gapen), Matt Blohm, Megan Armstrong, Clark Gapen, Katie Herbstritt, Matthew Herbstritt, Ted Herbstritt, Colleen Tapling, Audrey (Leech), George Tapling, IV, Jessica Miro, Robert Tapling, Charlie Stack, Liam Stack and Caitlin Stack.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Independence Center (444 Mercantile Ct, Wheeling, IL 60090).
