In loving memory of James Helfers of Des Plaines, Illinois, who departed this world on November 27, 2024 at the age of 86. James leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Helfers; his parents, Edward Helfers and Alma Helfers; and his brother Ed Helfers. He is survived by: his daughters, Kristin Campos (Joe), Julie Callahan (Steve), Jennifer McCarthy (Brian) and Jill Permanian (Carl); his grandchildren, Jenna, Joey (Melanie), Josh, Ryan, Matthew (Chloe), Michael, Stevie, Tom, Scott, Kevin, Kate, Zack and Nick; and his great grandchildren, Quinn, Paxton, Molly and Lily.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Mark Lutheran Church (200 S Wille St, Mt Prospect, IL 60056). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
