We are sad to announce that on January 2, 2023, at the age of 84, Virgil E. Schmidt of Dennison, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Harriet J. Liggett Schmidt; his parents, Virgil Schmidt and Elizabeth Methner Schmidt; his brother Charles P. Schmidt; and his granddaughter Ashlee T. Pugh.
He is survived by: his sister Norma Lee Furrow (Ray) of Georgia; his children, Virgil "Bill" Schmidt of Dennison, IL, Ruthann Knowles (John) of Marshall, IL, Janice Steward (John) of Dennison, IL and Jeannie Ross (John) of Dennison, IL; his close friend Delbert Chesshir; and his brothers, Charlie and Ray. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and life-long friends.
