He was predeceased by: his father Richard "Bud" Mibbs; his son Jason Mead; and his grandparents, Richard, Jessie Lay, Henry and Velma Mibbs.

He is survived by: his mother Barbara Rush Mibbs of Delavan; his former spouse Nikki Mead; his children, Jessica Mead of Pekin and Joel Mibbs of North Pekin; his grandchildren, Parker, Quinten, Bentley, Carter, Karsyn, Jayson and Josephine; his brother Richard Mibbs (Angela Smith) of Manito; his nephew Austin; and his niece Keirstyn. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
