With solemn reverence, we commemorate George Dirks of Delavan, Illinois, whose life came to an end on October 18, 2024 at the age of 94, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert H. Dirks and Aleida VanHoorn Dirks Sr.; his wife Juanita "Peg" Dirks; his son Jimmy; his great grandchild Dylan Sturch; and his siblings, Dick, Albert Jr., Alfred, Gertrude Ross, Nancy Aspeitia and Annetta Tillman.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Zimmerman (Steve) of Mason City, Randall Dirks (Teresa) of Lincoln and Linda Sturch (Gene) of Delavan; and his sisters, Anna Marie Witbeck of Illinois and Dorothy DeBord. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Davis-Oswald Funeral Home (121 W 3rd St, Delavan, IL 61734). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Delavan United Methodist Church.
