He was predeceased by: his parents, Rual Fortney and Alice Clark Fortney; his sister Juanita "Peg" Dirks; his nephew Jimmy Eaton; and his brother-in-law Pepper Eaton.
He is survived by: his children, Micky Fortney of Delavan and Penny Hitchcock (Eric) of Harrisburg, NC; his grandchildren, Branden Fortney (Shannon), Ashton Todd (Connor), Keith Hitchcock and Payton Hitchcock; his great grandchildren, Shelby and Shane; his brother-in-law George Dirks; his niece Linda Sturch; and his cousin Bob Clark.
Memorials may be made to Delavan Booster Club or Delavan United Methodist Church.
