Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint James leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Rhoades and Betty Rhoades (McKinley); and his in-laws, Dave and Margaret Bush. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Rhoades (Bush); and his daughters, Kristina Walter (Ryan) of Sugar Grove and Melissa Beck (Zach) of DeKalb.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Congregational United Church of Christ (615 N 1st St, DeKalb, IL 60115). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 at 3:00 PM and at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Rhoades Family to establish a scholarship for a DeKalb High School graduate pursuing a career in law enforcement.
