He was predeceased by: his sister Evelyn Sherman Raden; and his parents, Max Sherman and Mary Sherman. He is survived by: his wife Holly Birnbaum; his niece Lisa Raden; his nephew Tony Raden (Karen); his siblings-in-law, Bernard Raden, Marc Birnbaum (Jacalyn), Andy Birnbaum (Linda), BJ and Rick Kaufman; his nephew Nate Birnbaum (Livvy); and his nieces, Ahri Golden (Jay), Carly Snider (John), Jessica Pratt (Andrew) and Amy Birnbaum.

“I was surprised and saddened to hear this news. One of my fondest memories of Mark was one of the sketches we did for " Haugan City" 8th grade elections. I think I was running for librarian and my friend Sandra was running for a different office. We all had skits which were presented during an assembly. Sandra's skit featured me, entering the stage wearing burlap potato sacks. Surprised, Mark laughed hard. He presented Sandra with the script at out 50th RHS reunion. His caring made him special”
