She was loved and cherished by many people including: her spouse Kenneth Flaxman; her children, Steven and Benjamin; her parents, Lucy and Alexander; her siblings, Denise Matros (Mebea Aklilu) and Karen Matros (Todd); her parents-in-law, Barbara and Harry; her sibling-in-law Sue; and her nieces and nephews, Caleb, Helen Aklilu, Noah, Emma Matros and Rachel Kennedy.
