She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Gaertner; her parents, Robert Hess and Sara Hess; and her sister Miriam "Mimi" Chernov (late Ben). She is survived by: her children, Jan Cain (Barry) and Betty Scott (Will Hendricks); her grandchildren, Robin, Wendy Moskovitz (Michael), Sara Scott (Ryan Murdock) and Zachary Scott (Emma Goulart); and her great grandchildren, Talia, Adam, Lucas, Owen, Elise, Lachlan and Mila.
