She was predeceased by: her father John Hartman; her husband Robert W. "Bob" Hess; her sons, Rick and Scott; and her siblings, Howard "Hop", Harold "Bud", Roland "Sam" and Shirley.

She is survived by: her mother Elizabeth Hartman (Bucher); her children, Randy Hess (Kris) of High Ridge and Cindy Hess (Mike Lowery) of Deer Creek; her grandchildren, Kati Hess (Jahaan Ashfaq), Rick Hess and Alyssa Escobedo; her great grandchild Cali Campbell; and her siblings, Viola Wagner of Eureka and Richard "Dick" Hartman of DeKalb, Ill.. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who considered her a second mom; and great-nieces and nephews.
