He was predeceased by: his parents, Ammon Ricks and Verry Scott-Ricks; his grandparents, Harten and Deeda Scott; and his siblings, Emma Jean Rogan, Leslie M. Jones, Mary Louice Lanniar and B. T. Ricks.
He is survived by: his wife Rosalind Ricks; his children, Tyris Matthews, Dr. Victoria Carter, Myris Matthews (Shanisha), Julius Warren-Woodley, Willie Ricks Jr. and Tyronn Ricks (Danyell Vinson); his siblings, Fred Ricks (Elizabeth) of Decatur, IL, C. W. Ricks of Ripley, TN, Vesteen Talifierro and Delaine Owens of Ripley, TN; and his nephew Timothy Ricks. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Love Fellowship Christian Church (1567 N Clinton St, Decatur, IL 62526). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
