She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Harry Rice Stewart and Vera Stewart (York); her former husband Werner Thurman; her husband David Johnston; her children, Tarri, Carri Thurman of Homer, Alaska, Parri of Battle Creek, Michigan and William V. Johnston; her daughter-in-law Megan of Houston, Texas; her granddaughter Aurora Johnston of Urbana, Illinois; and her sister Tani Stewart of San Diego. She was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Sharon's life may do so by making a donation in her name to St. Patrick and St James Parish, in Decatur, or to St. Jude's Childrens' Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
