He was predeceased by: his parents, Nancy Beatrice Hendrix and Horace Lawrence; his son Derrick Sewell; his brothers, Eric and Marc Hendrix; his aunts and uncles, Georgia Mae Christian, Katie Langford, John Langford and James Langford; his niece Tunicia April; and his mother-in-law Earnestine Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Byrd Hendrix; his children, Rodney Dean Sewell, Shanna Nichol Sewell and Lakendel Smith (Javondas); his brothers, Carey Hendrix and Paul Hendrix; his grandchildren, Brandon Sewell, Corey, Cor'Sean, Coreon and Ja'Nylah; his nieces and nephews, Airrace Muhammad, Eric Gavins (Lakeisha), Marc Hendrix Jr., Edward Hendrix, Erica Young (Marquis) and Aisha Williams (Jerry); and his sister-in-law Annette Hendrix.
