He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Rathert and Catherine Rathert (Matvey). He is survived by: his wife Harlene Bence; his children, Charles Rathert of Greenville, SC and Allison Rathert of Greenville, SC; his sister Barbara Glass of Cape Girardeau, MO; and his niece Shannon Glass.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Windsor Cemetery in Windsor, IL Memorials in Richard's honor may be made to: Northwest Christian Church to be used to improve and maintain the property, a cause that Richard was very passionate about.
