She was predeceased by: her parents, John C. Adkins and Jennie M. Adkins (Calohan); her brother Donald Adkins; her granddaughter Jillian Smith; and her niece Donna Adkins Yost.
She is survived by: her husband Jerry McDowell; and her daughters, Tammy McDowell, Alice McDowell and Jenina Henley (John). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren.
