With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marilyn J. Thornton of Decatur, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 10, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Wendell and Mary Wendell; her husband Oliver F. Thornton; and her daughters, Cindy Ventress, Linda Oyler and Kathleen Thornton.
She is survived by: her son Oliver Mark Thornton (Cheryl) of Decatur, IL; her son-in-law Gary Ventress of Decatur, IL; and her siblings, Robert Wendell (Sheila) and Deva Doty (Bill) of Mt. Zion, IL. She is also survived by 8 grandkids.
