He is survived by: his wife Julie McCain Smith of Decatur, IL; his children, Joseph Lyle Simpkins (Kristin) of Frankfort, IL and Jandy Marie Carter (Matt) of Jerseyville, IL; his grandchildren, Jared (Marisa), Noah, Isaac Simpkins, Abbey, Meagan Fuqua, Brianne Wren (Nate), Hayley, Austin and Brendan Fitzpatrick; his sister Shirley Ramsey of Decatur, IL; his son-in-law Derek Fitzpatrick of Decatur, IL; and his pet Misty Blue. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church or the Macon County Animal Control and Care Center.
