It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Stengel of Decatur, Illinois, who passed away on June 8, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo A. Stengel and Cressie Stengel (Raupp); and his brothers, Leo and Dr. Robert Stengel. He is survived by: his wife Lyn of Springfield, IL; his sons, Jeff Stengel (Linda) of Eagle, Greg Stengel of Decatur, IL and Steve Stengel (Charlene); and his grandchildren, Jack and Anna Stengel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. Teresa High School or Holy Family Catholic Church.
