He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Johnson and Elra Johnson; his wife Darlene Spalding; and his son Terry. He is survived by: his sibling Terry (Jerry); his niece Penny; his children, Jerry Johnson (Bev) of Texas and Penny Doolin of Decatur; his grandchildren, Alyssa Merritt (Chris) of Blue Mound, Katelyn Cella (Matt) of Texas, Ryan Johnson (Sarah) of Texas and Michael Doolin of Decatur; his great grandchildren, Caden, Austin, Tommy, Connor, Charles and Naomi; and his siblings, Linda Sarver and Randy Johnson (Nancy) of Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests memorials be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church.
