We are sad to announce that on February 8, 2020, at the age of 88, Joan E. Gillespie (Decatur, Illinois) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Williams and Hazel Williams (Meadows); and her husband Danny E. Gillespie. She is survived by: her daughter Deborah Pate (R. Hardy Sr.) of Blue Mound, IL; her stepdaughter Leah Gillespie of Blue Mound, IL; her sister Jean Helmuth (Morey) of Texas; her grandchildren, Hardy Pate, Jr. and Tracy Pate (John Charlton); her stepgrandchildren, Ashley Whitmire (Larry) and Haley Turner (Chris); her great grandchildren, Bryanna Roy, Amellia Kelly, Bentley Whitmire, Lillian Whitmire, Madison Turner and Mila Turner; and her son David L. Stern of Decatur, IL..

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Decatur/Macon County Animal Shelter.
