He is survived by: his wife Josie Hughes; his children, Gwendolyn Harrison (Ted), Aurelia Clark (Larry), James Hughes Jr. and Kevin Boston; his stepchildren, Valorie Cherry, Nicholas Willard and Hobson Cherry; and his sisters, Mary Less Williams, Cassie Johnson, Lebertha Hughes and Ramonia Robinson.
