As Helen Louise departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Helen Louise may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Helen Louise leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, W. A. Armstrong (Alvie) and Annie E. Armstrong (Houldsworth); and her husband William Louis Burdick. She is survived by: her children, Leslie Cassity (Tom), Doug Burdick (Jan) and Jeff Burdick (Denise); and her half-sister Carie Smith (Randy). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church (250 W Decatur St, Decatur, IL 62522).
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Burdick Scholarship Fund in care of First Evangelical Lutheran Church Scholarship Committee, 250 W. Decatur St., Decatur, IL 62522, who administers the fund.
