With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gilbert T. Fletcher of Decatur, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 25, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Gilbert shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Gilbert farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Nathan Fletcher and Zelma Fletcher (Taylor); his wife Rose Mary Hall; his daughters, Lynne Renea Salter of Decatur, IL and Cheryl Denise Budde (Daniel) of Trion, GA.; and his grandchildren, Camisha Lee Salter of Decatur, IL, Nathaniel Jerome Budde (Kimberly) of Carrollton, GA and Michael Thomas Budde (Andrea) of Dallas, GA..
Visitation was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Grace Methodist Church (901 N Main St, Decatur, IL 62523). A graveside service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Snicarte Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Gilbert to Grace Methodist Church in Decatur, IL or Fair Havens Senior Living Center in Decatur, IL.
