It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George Leland Parks of Decatur, Illinois, born in Champaign, Illinois, who passed away on November 19, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Stanford and Bertha Matilda Parks (Groskurd). He is survived by: his wife Hui Cha "Jan" Ko of Decatur; his children, Lee Parks (Melody) of Mattoon, IL, Erik Parks (Brigitte) of Aurora, IL and Nancy Parks (Gunner Aron) of Hartland, WI; and his grandchildren, Gabriel, Madison, Ava, Addison and Hunter.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #99 of Decatur.

“Jan, Lee, Eric and Nancy & Families: I am so sorry that I am unable to attend Lee's visitation and funeral. Vickie and I are in Florida at our winter home, working with our homeowner's insurance company and local contractors to negotiate and secure repairs to our house following Hurrican Ian. I've known Lee since 1969. He was a good friend, a good man over all, and one of the most intelligent people I ever met. I shall miss seeing him around town. Mark Barthelemy”
