“My first encounter yet with Gay was when I was an aide at MIS in Blue Mound. Gay was subbing regularly and I, with a wedding date just a couple months away, was working on wedding favors and decorations. She sat down next to me one day at lunch and said, “Why are you even doing this. This is a day for you. Let me take care of that.” She took the supplies home and brought them back completely finished the following day. She made me smile and her kindness touched my heart.”
