She is survived by: her son Richird L. Scales (Marla); her grandchildren, Michelle Diggs (Adrian), Ivy Abercrombie (Aaron) and Sandra Scales-Heaton (Douglas); her great grandchildren, Jacob Diggs, James "Zander" Alexander Diggs, Hannah Abercrombie and Audrey Abercrombie; her niece Louann Perry; and her close friend Margaret Klunick. She is also survived by many extended family and friends.
