She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward A. Burnes and Teresa Hoffmeyer Burnes; her husband William Braun of Belleville, IL; her sons, Brian and Christopher; and her siblings, Dr. Edward Burners, Susan Sheehan and Joan Burners.

She is survived by: her children, Roger Braun of Springfield, Dr. Thomas Braun (Maria) of Oswego, IL and Maura Braun of Chicago, IL; her grandchildren, Eden, Lauren and Nolan; and her great-nephew Steven.

“Betty was one of the most lovely ladies I ever knew. She was always so bright and would light up the room with her smile. I had not seen her in several years, but have fond memories of stopping to say hello as she sat on her patio next to the golf course at the Country Club of Decatur. She will be missed by so many. I send my deepest condolences and prayers to the family for comfort and support during this sad time. Linda Hull”
