It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Doty of Decatur, Illinois, born in Hammond, Indiana, who passed away on November 13, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilson Robert and Florine Doty (Hard); and his siblings, Lester, Bob, Lou, Louise Davis and Fay Batson.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Aschermann; his children, David Doty (Kathy) of Bethany, Dena Doty (David Goldsborough) of Brownstown and Jason Doty (Terri) of Decatur; his grandchildren, Michael, Ashton, Nathan, Kayla and Benjamin; his great grandchildren, Adelyn, Isaiah and Oakley; and his brothers, Cliff and Kenny Doty.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home - Decatur (2827 N Oakland Ave, Decatur, IL 62526). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Sharon United Methodist Church (4363 W Center St, Decatur, IL 62522).
