He was predeceased by: his parents, John Downs and Mabel Downs (Foster); his siblings, John B. Downs Jr. and Ora Funk; his brother-in-law Kenneth Funk; his nephew Stephen Funk; and his niece Gloria Weakley.
He is survived by: his wife Karon Downs of Decatur, IL; his daughter Gina Ashby (Ronald Jr.) of Edwardsville, IL; his granddaughter Clare Ashby of Edwardsville, IL; and his pet Ammy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home - Decatur (2827 N Oakland Ave, Decatur, IL 62526).
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to New Day Community Church, Summit Lodge #431, or Eastern Star Illini Chapter #813.
