He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Russell and Jennie Ida Maple (O'Hara); his daughter Shonda Maple; his grandson Matthew Wayne Cooper; and his sister Sandra Webber.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Patricia Lane; his children, Brenda Maple, Billie Jean Landers, Bobbie JoAnn Gillian and Shawn Lane; and his sister DeVera Weatherford. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
