As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let her loved ones carry forward the torch of her memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of her love and the brilliance of her spirit. Though Betty may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas A. Wheatley. She is survived by: her brother Gerald R. Schmidt (Sandy); her son Jay W. Dikeman; her stepdaughters, Jacqui Wheatley Guiffrida (Walter) and Jenny Augustin (Karl); and her grandchildren, Ashley Hinton, Taylor Dikeman, Amber Townsend (Jeff), Susan Nerenberg (Derek) and Nicole Webb (Adam). She is also survived by six great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Betty wished donations be sent to: New Millenium Faith Ministries, 1415 N. Edward Street, Decatur, Illinois, 62525 to be used toward the development of their Tavera Learning Center.
