She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Hood and Minnie Hood (Guyse); her husband Tema Cruz; and her siblings, Waudean Robinson, Gladys Oldham, Jewel Reid, William Hood (Sardis) and Joyce Greene.

She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Phillips (Richard), Tim Cruz (Wanda), Tisa Springfield (Blennard), Daniel Cruz (Gina), Tina Taylor (Eddie), Nick Cruz (Felice) and Tony Cruz (Frances); and her sister Bessie Abel of Sacramento, CA.
