It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Hicks of De Soto, Illinois, born in Herrin, Illinois, who passed away on February 26, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Legan and Myrtle Legan (Blue); her husband Ike; and her siblings, Earl, Clyde, Ray, John, Lena Norman, Gladys Kawoski and Mary Starnes.
She is survived by: her son Howard Lee "Butch" Hicks (Linda) of De Soto; her granddaughters, Sheila Snyder (Darren) of Carbondale and Amy; and her great grandchildren, Hayden Snyder, J. J. Snyder, Montana and Gracie Taylor.
