Virginia Holsten wrote a sympathy message

“I am saddened by Roger's death. I was writing him a birthday card, but lost his address. I first met Roger when he lived in Waverly. A friendship that has survived through thick and thin. I will miss our conversations, although they were not frequent. He was a good guy. Virginia Holsten - Vinton, Iowa”

We talked a lot and had a lot of fun. I was really sad to learn of Roger‘s passing. He was a memorable guy who will be missed. Ellen von Ohlen Guerrant, Charlotte NC”

Gary Hansen wrote a sympathy message

“Roger and I were high school classmates. Some years later, Roger spent an overnight here in Colorado with my wife and I. We had a great time catching up and swapping stories. The next year he called and wanted us to view a place in the mountains that he was thinking of buying. It had a beautiful view, but the cabin was a dump. Roger never did get to move back to the Rockies. I always looked forward to seeing him at our class get togethers. Thoughts and prayers for his family.”

Carolyn Thomas wrote a sympathy message

“Roger was a friend in high school and I lost track of him for awhile. But, we shared the same birthday so we would get in touch on our birthdays. I understood that he had an interesting life, served his country and eventually came back to Illinois and met regularly with our 1961 classmates. We were able to see him several times and enjoyed our conversations. Rest in peace Roger.”
