He was predeceased by: his wife Norma; his parents, Harlan Kinney and Ruth Kinney (Halverson); and his sister Flora Kinney Brock. He is survived by: his siblings, Marcia Kinney Slaton of Mesa and Duane Kinney of Durand. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established in his memory Medina Nursing Center, 402 S Center Street, Durand, Illinois.
