He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond DeWitt and Margaret Emma DeWitt (Griffith); his sisters, Janice DeWitt and Donna Walton; and his nephew Daniel Walton.

He is survived by: his wife Valerie DeWitt; and his children, Dawn Wilson of Miami, Amy Thomason (Alan) of Cartersville, Georgia, Kent Maskel (April) and Shari Wright (Jim). He is also survived by grandchildren and 11 bonus great-grandchildren.

Memorials in Ron's name may be made to the Danville American Legion Post 210.
