He was predeceased by: his parents, Forrest Kaufman and Frances Otto Kaufman; his wife Carolyn; his grandchildren, Jonathon, Shane Kaufman and Traci Walsh; and his siblings, Forrest Jr., William Kaufman and Mary Carolyn Kaufman.

He is survived by: his brother Carl Kaufman (Karen); his children, Rick Kaufman (Karen), Suzann Walsh (Tom) and JoEllen Fiorentini (Mark); his grandchildren, James Kaufman, Tara Bentley, Tom Walsh, Tim Walsh, Tami Jones (Scott), Tricia Griffin (Curtis), Christopher Fiorentini and Alicia Szafranski (Jacob); and his great grandchildren, Dylan Kaufman, Devyn Bentley, Karley, Wiley Jones, Chloe, Carter Griffin and Szafranski. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
