He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl H. Schmidgall and Rosa C. Schoch; his siblings, Elsa Schmidgall, Florence Lay, Pauline Lay, Roy, Howard, Herbert and Edward; his children, Galyn Gudenrath (Jon) of Heyworth, Carla Van Gundy (Greg) of Bloomington, Patricia Strubel (Scott) of Indianapolis and Eric Schmidgall (Sherry) of Mackinaw; his grandchildren, Michael (Rachael), Cody, Sara, Janelle Lyons (Scott), Stephanie Fara (Joe), Beata Johnson (Andrew), Kai, Amber Towle (James), Dru, Korri and Carl; his great grandchildren, Austin, Brielle, Ava, Kenley, Mila, Addilyn Virginia and Savannah; and his sister Maxine Schmidgall of Mackinaw.
