He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Gerlach and Cora Gerlach (Frank); his former wife Dolores Cavaletti; his siblings, Violet, Bulah and Orville; and his son-in-law Mike Malley.
He is survived by: his wife Eda Eileen Riebschlager of Dalzell; his children, Bonnie Anderson (Gary) of Seatonville and Gary Gerlach of Commerce, Georgia; his stepdaughters, Barbara Malley of Streator, Jane Kunkel (Alan) of Kennesaw, Georgia and Deborah Kennedy (Steve) of Spring, Texas; and his brother Vyrle Gerlach (Nelda). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital or donor's choice.
