He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Portzen and Kathryn Portzen (Truckenbrod); and his daughter Gina. He is survived by: his wife Betsy Ghighi (Kolupke) of Dalzell; his stepson Jan G. Ghighi of Sacramento, California; and his sisters, Donna Karstens (Ron) of LaMoille and Mary Anthony (Rick) of Geneseo.
