He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond McClure and Hazel Maurer (Rucker); his stepfather Glenn Maurer; his children, Alan Maurer and Rhonda Choate; and his brother Lonnie Maurer.
He is survived by: his wife Charlene Maurer (Dyer) of Dahlgren; his son John Maurer (Susan) of Dahlgren; and his brother Dana Maurer (Grace) of Denver, CO.. He is also survived by 2 granddaughters, 4 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Belle Rive Missionary Baptist Church and will be accepted at the church, or at Gholson Funeral Home.
