He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Aydt and Johanna Aydt (Forster); and his wife Martha Kay Aydt (Sights). He is survived by: his sons, Kenneth Aydt of Mt. Vernon, IL and Dennis Aydt of Dahlgren; his grandson Levi Aydt of Mt. Vernon, IL; his siblings, Don Aydt (Lois) of Piopolis, Juanita Wellen (Gerard) of Piopolis and Pat Anselment (Albert) of Dahlgren; and his close friend Albert Wuebbels. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
