He is survived by: his son Gary Franklin Shelton (Kelly) of Wayne, IL; his wife Evelyn Shelton (Martines) of Dahlgren, IL; his sons, Tim Shelton and Tom Shelton; his grandchildren, Shelby, Sharlotte, Sloan and Sawyer; his brothers, Jim Shelton, Dennis Shelton, Brad Shelton of Austin, TX and Rodney Shelton of Seattle, WA; and his nephews, Matthew Shelton (Jennie) of Mesa, AZ and Jordan Shelton of Albuquerque, NM..
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) or to the Dahlgren Community Chapel Church, and will be accepted at the church, or at Gholson Funeral Home of Dahlgren, which is assisting the family with arrangements.
