It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Merritt Scott of Custer Park, Illinois, who passed away on March 12, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John Merritt Scott to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Merritt Scott, Sr. and Mona Scott; his wife Anita Marie Gutierrez; his sister Marilyn Lehan; and his children, Laura Lee and Kevin Michael.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Capista (Lee) of Shorewood, Steve Scott (Bev) of Wilmington, David Scott (Nicky) of Waterlooville, England and Tony Scott (Mindy) of Custer Park; and his stepchildren, Deborah Johnson (Glen) of Joliet, Michael Bravo (Kathy) of Lockport and Joseph Bravo (Paula) of Shorewood. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 9:45 AM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
