He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Groskreutz and Hattie Groskreutz (Rewerts); and his brothers, Theodore, Harold and Richard Groskreutz.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Kewley; his children, Rhonda Mays (Greg) of Pontiac, Nanette Groskreutz of Champaign and Ronald Groskreutz (Christy) of Norwalk, IA; his grandchildren, Erica Malaga (Ramon), Erin Mays (Raymond Bohm), Ryan Mays (Emily Roberts), Andrew Mays (Shayla Doyle), Peyton Mays, Mackenzie Kersch, Nicholas Sanders (Amelia), Samantha Stanberry (Ross) and Reagan Groskreutz; his great grandchildren, Dallas Rios, Nola Mays, Makayla Chapman, Jayden Mays, Cyrus Mays, Nico Malaga and Pierce Mays; and his brother Paul Groskreutz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Cullom Beckman Memorial Library or Relay for Life.
